North/West Tour : Day 10 : Salt Lake City

What a day! Ground and filed knobs off a rail, skated 5 spots, ate lots of Doritos and cream cheese, met up with a friend Erik Bork and skated his awesome Ogio warehouse facility.
(Note to self) “DO NOT roll in on 15+ foot ramp to 6 foot quarter pipe on a tri-cycle”
Heres the best part, all of that happened before dark… I love Salt Lake!

North/West Tour : Day 9 : Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is amazing! So many good hassle free spots and the people there are so layed back and careless. We met up with friends Sam Hubble and Kyle Wilcox at Lincoln Elementry, 3 perfect benches in a row. These benches are so good you kinda obligate yourself to trying impossible tricks. Maybe that’s why no one landed their lines?? Anyhow here are some photos enjoy!

Since Salt Lake is 49% Morman, most businesses and other establishments are closed on saturdays… Thus making most skate spots open and hassle free at that. Here is a taste of one of our hassle free spots and an introduction to one of Utah’s most talented skateboarders, Sam Hubble.
Here’s a little story about Sam Hubble: He descends from the Hubble telescope family. His great grandpa actually worked on the telescope and apparently Sam has the rights to use any of its photos. I told him to get one of the telescope workers to zero in on him skating one day a shoot a sequence of him landing a trick. How sick would that be at the beginning of your skate part. Like what camera did you shoot that with? I’m on some other shit. Hubble bitch.

North/West Tour : Day 7 : Utah

After Josh Hawkins slayed out the Flagstaff rails and we caught a venom filled coral snake… we began our journey north to Salt Lake City. We couldn’t quite make the whole drive in one night, so at about 4:30 am, we pulled over to what seemed like a nice sandy, canyon spot. When we woke up to the blazing sun at 8 am, we were alarmed by a dung beetle burrowing underneath the tent. We cruised outside and found to our surprise, a massive cave towering about two stories high. Good thing we found that the night before. We took a gander inside, and it was pretty amazing, in fact, the remote spot we thought we had found wasn’t remote at all. It was right across the street from a mining museum and golf course. After taking a few essential group shots we started heading north on route to Salt Lake City. I don’t know what directions Jared was following but we ended up over shooting the highway by an hour. It actually worked out for the best, because we came across another canyon area, with spectacular views and more photo opportunities. Needless to say with all of our sight seeing and Buffalo jerky stops, we didn’t get a whole lot of skating in that day.

We can no longer stand the mid summer Phoenix weather. We decide its time to head 2 hours north to Flagstaff, AZ, it’s a mile higher and 30 degrees cooler here and Josh can get two 10 minute sessions without breaking a sweat, good deal! We’ll be back on the road via Utah in no time…

(Surgeon General) Warning! Falling on black top or concrete this time of year can result in major epidermas loss and mental blocks!…
Good thing Josh and John aren’t doing flip tricks into a sketchy rough bank…
